Rook WIP

Finally made a design for Sarwari's new digimon partner! Well.. its actually the same one XD In terms of plot and personality etc. I just decided the species didn't fit that character. Though now I'm kinda wondering if I should swap it around again?? *flails arms*

Basically, Rook is an adorable Guilmon-esque baby digimon. She's perpetually cheerful! Or to put it another way.. somewhat simple and nieve. She believes the best of everyone and isn't really old enough to comprehend all these complex things that're supposed to make her upset. Suuuuuuper mellow! Kinda like a Slowpoke, she doesn't even realize she's supposed to be surprised by things until five minutes later, and by then she's already forgotten about it XD
Sarwari is stuck with less of a tamer role, and more of a "big sister who has to protect this lil goofball and teach her the ways of the world". Against her will. Curses!! *shakes fists at the sky* *oh the horror of being forced to be a kind person to small children and perhaps stop using so much sarcasm!*
It's a misadventure of hilarity, not least because Sarwari is only a kid herself But despite all her grumpyness and the fact that this snake keeps getting her into trouble, she really does love Rook and they're best friends for life. They kinda act like "those two guys" who're always ganging up together to pull pranks on everyone else, sharing loads of in-jokes, sharing all the pie... anyone else who tries to get in-between them is gonna be a third wheel, no question about it. They're each other's Most Important Person In The World(s)!
Rook always talks "_{like this}" (small text, no capitals) and tends to call her tamer Boss, Chief, Your Majesty, Grand Poobah, etc etc instead of her name. Apparantly in her mind she's the evil minion of a grand overlord, and honestly that suits Sarwari pretty well XD (Not that she needed any more ego-stroking...)

However I'm not sure if she's gonna be this snakey, or a rat instead. There's another character I'm not sure about, and I keep swapping the species designs between the two of them. Other charrie (Dust) is a pompous, overly serious, stern former-knight stuck in the body of a Rookie digimon after getting depowered and buried for a century as a fossil. So lots of comedy from the fact that she tries to command respect and totally fails because she's a tiny lil digiblob.
I'm not sure if "happy-go-lucky cute kid digimon" would better suit the rat, and "stern adult" would better suit  the snake. But on the other hand, Rook's personality is literally how ball pythons act. And snakes always being meanies is so stereotypical and utterly false
Besides, because of assumptions people probably wouldn't get the whole joke that Dust is supposed to look disproportionately cute and harmless compared to her personality, because it'd be like "well, she's a big snake! She's pretty imposing anyway!"
Its like Guilmon... he's not necessarily cute if you just look at his design without knowing his personality, because of all the expectations everyone has for a giant lizard dragon thing with a hazard symbol on his belly. Give him a grumpy personality and the cuteness dies...

BTW regarding this design: she's not actually conjoined twins or split personality or whatever, just one mind and body with two heads. So she can eat twice as fast, and even sing a duet with herself XD
However she has a tendancy to split her thoughts into the two heads whenever she's trying to make a decision/disagreeing with herself. SHOULD I GET ICECREAM OR SHOULD I NOT GET ICECREAM? (this sort of stuff is a Decision Of Critical Importance in Rook-vision XD) It kinda helps her think better to roleplay it out XD
Also one of her heads might blurt out subconcious thoughts now and then while the other one is trying to talk, she could be having trouble doing math and decide to use both heads at once to amplify brain power, or she could multitask different things, or she could sleep with one head and stay awake with the other. General stuff like that.
Also... snakes have silly mouths. SO CUTE! *tongue flick*
I don't think having a card suit motif suits the character, and it clashes with the minor chess theme. But I couldn't think of a different symbol that'd look equally as good on her chest between the heads. Hmm... maybe a zipper? Like.. a snake unzipping halfway out of a shed skin- that sort of visual XD
