Mana Leech Gif

Mana leech sprite! Animated with its idle and hit animation. Woot! I'm not very good at scratch sprites but this came out fairly cool.

Trivia:
* Mana leeches got a mild redesign! They now have buckteeth cos its hard to draw a fanged sucker and make it look cute, and when I tried to do so on a sprite it ended up looking like buckteeth. So now its canon!!! This kinda makes them less pathetic cos it means their bite strength is obscene, cos it'd need to be to pierce skin with only molars.
Also now their markings glow on and off just cos it'd look cooler on their sprite.
* The standing-up-balancing-on-the-butt-like-a-stick idle-headbanging back-and-forth is based on a thing real leeches seem to compulsively do before taking any action. Its quite funny to watch em rear up and wiggle their lil head to check out the area EVERY SINGLE TIME they're about to walk, even if they just paused for a second!

They're really quite funny animals and you guys are probably gonna go 'seriously you made that up' a lot.. they actually practically somersault around like living slinkies. (they have a sucker on their mouth and butt and stick one to the ground, flip over, stick the other one, so on. It'd probably be easier to just wiggle like every other annelid!) If I can finish up a full animation sheet it'd look very cool, hehe! Some giant worm catapulting itself at you with spinnyness, nomming and then swelling up to eight times its size like a balloon is much more interesting than another generic wolf monster that just slashes its claws about.
I mostly love these guys just for their zany mannerisms, even if I had to cartoon em up to make em more cute to the mainstream eye.
