Fun With Endigomon

Description

I've discovered MMD. NONE OF YOU ARE SAFE!
Endigomon/Wendigomon/Wendimon/Kokomon/WhyDidTheShowGiveHimSoManyNames model ripped from Digimon Masters Online, and posed in MikuMikuDance for the lulz. Yay!
You can get the model here: www.deviantart.com/#/art/Wendi… And the program here: www.geocities.jp/higuchuu4/ind…

But seriously though, its not as fun as I expected. It's basically a crappier version of that old Poser program that was trending when I was a kid. The only advantage is that MMD is more popular, has a bigger userbase and more files and stuff. And its specifically for dancing as opposed to anything else, so there's a lot of dancing resources.
But JESUS CHRIST the interface is really, really bad and confusing. It ruins all the fun. Took me aaaaages to make just this really nonsensical pose cos I couldn't achieve anything realistic. You have to click on each bone and rotate it. You can't click and drag. You can't move it. Only rotate it. One bone at a time.
Not even basic stuff like right clicking to deselect, nope every single time you have to head back to the select menu and select all over again. So rotate these tiny, tiny pieces with no clear idea what is what and what combination will make the arm move to where you want, and sometimes when you're rotating it'll randomly go HGGGK and the model will fly off in a random direction and its like.. WHAT EXACTLY IS SO HARD ABOUT MOVING 1CM TO THE LEFT? WHY DO YOU REFUSE SPECIFICALLY THIS ONE MOVEMENT? Flies off into a random position and wrecks all your work >_<
MMD: fostering appreciation for the Undo button. You will become intimately aquainted with it.

Also you are totally reliant on whoever ripped the model, and you're screwed if it doesn't have the right bones rigged. Like.. this one is particularly weird. His arms bend at the joint between the stripy bit and the forearm, not at the actual elbow. (Which should be the middle stripe, y'know?) The stripy bits of his arm don't bend at ALL and it looks really wrong. Probably was rigged by someone who hadn't seen the anime, y'know? Endigomon has a very confusing character design after all.
Also the ears aren't rigged (hence why they're sticking straight out in defiance of gravity..) and nor are the eyes or any facial features except the mouth. And just the lower jaw. It's impossible to close his mouth, he perpetually has an overbite ^^;
I dunno how much of that was already a flaw in the original model though. It wasn't designed for dancing and lipsync. (..Though a new digimon MMO based around idol singers would be REALLY COOL...)

So yeah... I feel frustrated. It took me around an hour and a half just to make a silly pose. Because by then I'd totally lost all willpower to do a serious pose and try and make a dance >_<
Poser has the better interface but practically zero models, MMD has all the models but it's boring to play. ALAS! When shall we ever be blessed with the perfect dance maker??

Once again...
Made with MMD, model belongs to Digimon Masters Online, ripped and rigged by the person I linked above (Haseo-PPK)

Oh. I get it now. You're not supposed to actually be able to animate things by yourself, you're supposed to load the official vocaloid dance thingies and make different models do them. I guess?
Well, on the one hand that's highly dissappointing, but on the other hand I am now staring transfixed at Endigomon doing Bad Romance. I don't know if I'm terrified or if I want to burst out laughing!
But damn, if only I could fix the clipping issues he'd really have some moves o.O Evidentely wasn't designed for a guy with wide shoulders, long arms and a stick waist XD EVERYTHING IS PASSING THROUGH EVERYTHING
And I can't fix it cos I have no clue how to use this stupid program >_<
BUT STILL
ENDIGOMON BAD ROMANCE
Everything is worth it, purely for that.
